Looking at this photo, the compositional element that is most apparent is shutterspeed. There is also shape and a repetition of color seen. When I edited this photo, I adjusted the colors to make a more interesting photograph. The camera, for this photo, had a shutter speed of 8 seconds. The shape that the lights take on as they were swung reminds me of a DNA strand.

Photo Two Photo Three
Looking at this photo, the compositional element that is most apparent is the depth. The tree branches work as leading lines, bringing you towards the middle of the photo. When I edited this photo, I adjusted exposure, and dodged and burned certain areas. This photo was taken on my iPhone. Due to the grayscale tones, and what the photographed structure is, an ominous feeling is created .

The compositional element that is most obvious is the use of positive and negative space between the window, and the walls and framing. There is also line and shape seen in this photo. When I edited this photo, I adjusted the saturation of the colors. This photo was also taken on my iPhone. This photo has a serious tone due to the hidden sirens from police cars behind the window.

I selected this photo because the colors in the candid work very well. Compositionally, there is use of the Rule of Thirds because she is slightly off center, making the photo more visually interesting. To take this photo I had the camera set on 1/125 (shutter speed) and 6.3 (aperture/depth of field). This photo feels very lighthearted, natural and sweet.

Photo Five Photo Six
This photo was taken for the portrait assignment.
What I like about this photo is how natural the photo is; It is very candid and "in the moment". My point of view was approximately 1 foot away. The photo follows the rule of thirds due to her being positioned slightly to the left. The depth of field is 5.3. The ISO was set to 1250 and the White Balance was set on auto. |
Looking at this photo, the compositional element that is most apparent is line and shape. The walking man in the center indicates this photo was a "decisive moment". There is also contrast seen with the dark trees and the light cloudy sky. When I edited this photo, I adjusted the exposure to be more dramatic. This photo was taken on my iPhone and gives an interesting point of view. It seems as though it starts a narrative following the photographed man.
